West Ham have been able to confirm the signing of Paraguay defenderFabián Balbuena from Brazilian outfit Corinthians. The 26-year-old is one of the latest acquisitions for West Ham, who are ready to spend big in the summer. He has been with the Brazilian team for the last two years and he has made the switch to West Ham for an undisclosed fee. It is highly unlikely thatBalbuena will face issues with regards to work permit, as he has featured in seven games for the Paraguay national team. His arrival marks the sixth new signing for West Ham.
“I’m really excited for this new challenge and my target is to meet the demands of the Premier League.Obviously to be at West Ham is an extra motivation and I want to do my best to help the team,” said Balbuena after making the switch to the London Stadium. The 26-year-old may not receive from regular first-team opportunities straight away, as Brazilian defenders to take their time in order to settle into life in the Premier league.
